Located at altitude, the vineyard is made up of sandy loam, magnesium and manganese in the north-west as well as iron-rich land in the south-east. Two styles of Barolo can be found. The first are modern, fruity and supple wines with riper tannins thanks to ageing in new barrels. The other kind are classic Barolos, thick with high tannin levels and often dried by delayed bottling. Generally speaking, Barolo wines can be identified by their very dark colour as well as remarkable aromatic complexity. These massive, powerful but elegant wines are characterised by notes of creamy vanilla, tobacco and smoke.

        Cavalier Lorenzo Accomasso is a premium Barolo wine producer of Piedmont. The collection of Barolo Riserva wines are extremely limited, with a mere 1000 cases produced annually from less than three hectares of vines.Lorenzo Accomasso began producing wine in the early 1950s and today is a legendary producer of traditional Barolo wines. Accomasso wines have not been exported since the 1980s with cellar doors sales the preferred methodology adding an additional element of scarcity to the limited production. The collection is highly sought-after by connoisseurs and collectors worldwide.
