        Producer Information

Famille Quiot is a French wine producer with numerous wine estates in southern France. The Quiot family has been making wine in the region since 1748, starting in Vaucluse in Châteauneuf-du-Pape at Domaine du Vieux Lazaret. Other estates acquired over time include Domaine Duclaux, Combes d'Arnevels, Domaine Houchart, Quiot Family, and Château du Trignon. Domaine du Vieux Lazaret is run by 13th-generation family member Jérôme Quiot and has expanded from a few hectares at its founding to cover 110 hectares (272 acres). Near Aix-en-Provence, lies the 60-hectare (148-acre) estate of Domaine Houchart, acquired in 1890. Almost a century later, the family took over Domaine Duclaux – a 14 hectare (35 acre) estate in Châteauneuf-du-Pape, with vines averaging over 50 years old. In 2006, the family acquired Château du Trignon, an estate spanning 70 hectares (173 acres) across several southern Rhône appellations, including Gigondas, Rasteau, Sablet et Côtes du Rhône and Vacqueyras. Wines from the estates are typically vinified to be fruit-forward and approachable. Common winemaking practices include destemming, vinifying in concrete vats, and aging in large oak foudres. Classic northern Rhône and southern French varieties such as Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Carignan, Cinsaut, Clairette, Grenache Blanc, Marsanne, Roussanne and Viognier make up Famille Quiot's extensive wine portfolio.
