• Wine Enthusiast: This is currently very young, but with some time open in a glass and the bottle, lemon-lime, passion fruit and pineapple rind aromas make their way out from beneath the reductive ones. There's an appealing chalky texture and some depth of flavor, with lingering citrus at the finish. Give this time to integrate and it should prove a food friendly drop.

• Wine Spectator: Strikes a terrific balance between mouthwatering acidity, fresh herbal notes of lemon verbena and thyme, and core flavors of Key lime, Meyer lemon, pineapple and tangerine. Gains momentum on the finish, where the flavors sing in harmony and complexity.

Allan Scott Family Winemakers is a New Zealand wine producer of the Marlborough region, established by the eponymous founder in 1990. The estate was one of the first independent boutique wineries of the Marlborough region and today, remains family-owned. The estate vineyards are located in Rapaura along the northern edge of the Wairau Valley. Here, young silt and clay-based soil types combined with cool night time temperatures and high sunshine hours creates ideal terroir for viticulture. The Wallops Vineyard is one of the oldest within the company's holdings, planted in 1985 by Allan and Catherine Scott originally for contract growing. The flagship range of The Eli Collection is a duo of Chardonnay and Pinot Noir, sourced from the best plots of the family estate. The core range of the portfolio includes Riesling and Pinot Gris from Marlborough, Chardonnay and Merlot from Hawke's Bay and a Sauvignon Blanc from Nelson. The range is designed to be affordable and well-suited to a broad range of palates. Additionally, a single vineyard selection of Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Rielsing and Pinot Noir are included as well as a range of méthode traditionelle titled Allan Scott Cecilia.
