Distillery Information

Courvoisier was founded in 1828 by Félix Courvoisier in Jarnac, France. The house gained prominence when Napoleon Bonaparte reportedly took several casks of Courvoisier with him into exile on St. Helena. In 1869, Napoleon III bestowed the title of "Purveyor by Special Appointment to the Court of Napoléon III" upon Courvoisier, solidifying its association with the French imperial court. Today, Courvoisier operates from its original Château in Jarnac, where it continues to produce its renowned cognacs.
