This edition of The Irishman Founder's Reserve sees the combination of two great things: whiskey and rum! The whiskey blend consists of 70% single malt and 30% single pot still Irish whiskey initially aged in American oak barrels. It was then finished for 6 months in Chairman’s Reserve rum casks from St. Lucia Distillers, hand picked by founder Bernard Walsh. A limited release of 4,560 bottles.

Nose: Bright malt aromas, sweet rum spices, dried apricots and summer berries.
Palate: Bucketfuls of tropical fruit, more malt at the centre accompanied by vibrant spices, namely cinnamon.
Finish: Fig, ripe banana, malt and oak spices linger.
Distillery Information
Deep within the scenic Carlow countryside in Royal Oak, sits the 18th century home of the Walsh Whiskey Distillery. The family owned and operated company was founded by Bernard and Rosemary Walsh, previous owners of a ski chalet in France, in search of the perfect Irish whiskey with which to spike their famous coffee. Eventually, their search led them to the founding of their whiskey brand Irishman in 1999.
