The Antarctic Heritage Trust and Alexandra Shackleton approached master blender Richard Patterson to put together a second edition replica to commemorate the 1916 explorer's "expedition of survival". Its formula includes: Glen Mhor (1980 vintage), Dalmore ( heavily peated ), Glenfarclas, Mannochmore, Ben Nevis, Aultmore, Tamnavulin, Fettercairn, Pulteney and Jura. The youngest whiskey was 8 years old, the oldest over 30. The new edition looks completely different - the wooden box was abandoned and the bottles were wrapped in straw to make them look exactly like those found after a hundred years in the former Shackleton's camp.
