Nikka is one of our favorite Japanese companies; not only does it make world quality whisky, but its foundation story is also so intriguing that it is the subject of a television drama. The Miyagikyo is its second distillery, being founded in Sendai in 1969. This 20 Year Old Miyagikyo whisky was distilled in 1988 and matured in a single cask. Presented with an adorable wooden box, it is high quality stuff like everything else from Nikka.

Nose: The aromas have alight fruit notes with malt and spice.
Palate: The taste almost is really just a short beginning that crescendos and transitions extremely smoothly into the finish.
Finish: Finish is long, spicy and smooth.

Miyagikyo distillery is a Japanese whisky distillery. It is located near Sendai, the capital city of Miyagi Prefecture, Tohoku region, Japan. The distillery is owned by Nikka Whisky Distilling, and was opened in 1969.
