Pernod absinthe, made from a great variety of plants, including the famous wormwood.

Size: 750mL

Proof: 136 (68% ABV)

Origin: France

Distillery: Pernod Fils Distillery

Detailed Description

The label of the Pernod Absinthe with its old fashioned style aims to remind of the prestige and tradition of Pernod, and its recipe. It aims to bring back the original Pernod Fils - using a recipe from the 19th Century. This absinthe is distilled from a wine alcohol base, in a French distillery in Thuir (not far from Perpignan). All artificial colours were banned from the previous recipe, and its now natural green colour is obtained through maceration with nettles.

Pernod Absinthe Tasting Notes

Nose: Grassy and floral with violet blossom. Fennel, coriander and aniseed. With water: anise, fennel and coriander. Still grassy but floral aromas are more subdued. Clean and fresh.

Palate: Dry and slightly on the bitter side. Woody herbal wormwood notes are freshened and lifted by coriander and aniseed.

Finish: Long, slightly bitter, woody herbal finish.

Distillery Information
