      Detailed Description

        Producer Information

Canon-Fronsac - owned by Jean-Pierre Moueix (of Ch.Pétrus fame), this 4 ha property produces on average 2,000 cases per year. Located in the south of the Canon-Fronsac appellation, to the south-west of Fronsac town, the property & appellation share a similar climate to that enjoyed by both St.Emilion & Pomerol: more continental than the maritime Médoc with generally more spring rainfall, though less in summer & winter. Its proximity to the river Dordogne limits the risk of frost. Its vineyards (Merlot 90%; Cabernet Franc 10%) lie on a clay/limestone soil. Vinification includes oak ageing, 25% new.
