Detailed Description
The colour is dark, with an intense red adorned with light-filled purple highlights. The nose is expressive, opening with fruity (red fruit) and new wood scents. The bouquet releases on movement delicious peppery notes. The palate is very elegant, enticing with velvety tannins, full body and sour cherry and black pepper scents. The finish is dense and lasting, harmoniously combining complexity and power with a delicate suppleness.
Producer Information
Owned since 2005 by the Merlaut family, managed by Céline Villars Foubet and Jean-Pierre Foubet, Château de Camensac is an estate founded in the 18th century in the Haut-Médoc appellation. This 5th Grand Cru Classé of 1855 was the subject of significant investments, both in the vineyard and in the cellar, which enabled the estate to be equipped with the best equipment. An unmissable name in Haut-Médoc, the Château de Camensac vineyard comprises 25 hectares of vines. The vines are planted in two different types of soil: the Gunzian gravel found in Saint-Julien and the Graffernian gravel found in Pessac-Léognan. It is from these two types of soil that give the wines of Château de Camensac their unique character.
