Producer Information

Blank Canvas is a New Zealand wine producer, located in the Marlborough wine region of the county's South Island. It produces a collection of single-vineyard wines from Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Riesling, Pinot Noir and Syrah amoungst others. Blank Canvas was founded by wife and husband team Sophie Parker-Thomas MW and Matt Thomson in 2013. Together they share over 35 years of collective global wine experience in both the northern and southern hemispheres. In terms of winemkaing, the company philosophy approaches every vintage and single-vineyard as a "blank canvas" with the aim of reflecting individuality and character. Each wine of the portfolio is classified as small-batch. The company works with long-term growing partners throughout Marlborough, Hawke's Bay and Central Otago. Cool-climate Syrah is sourced from the Gimblett Gravels subregion of Hawke's Bay whilst Sauvignon Blanc is sourced from Dillon's Point in Marlborough. In total there are nine different vineyards that contribute a multitude of terroirs and microclimates to the Blank Canvas wine portfolio.
