Bright red with purple reflections for an elegant and supple wine, with floral notes in evidence, between rose petals, lavender and helichrysum, and a sprinkling of licorice. The spicy note emerges together with the fruit from the center of the glass with a powerful expressive energy.

• Wine Advocate: The 2019 Fico brings it home in spectacular fashion. This is an ambitious organic and biodynamic wine made in limited quantity. The project initially started off with four vineyard rows near a fig tree in the same parcel that gives Sangiovese for Duccio Corsini's Chianti Classico Gran Selezione Zac. Today, 20 rows are dedicated to Fico, and production is expected to grow by 900 bottles, to a grand total of 2,400. Fruit from the Zac vineyard also goes to Per Filo, although the two wines are represented by different yields and selections. Another difference between the two is that Fico goes into barrique and Per Filo finishes in tonneaux. This wine is distinguished by an extremely lifted and feather light quality. It also offers floral tones and wild fruit with an impressive level of sharpness and focus. It's like looking through a recently polished window. This vintage is where you really start to see renewed momentum in the Fico Wine project.

Producer Information

Principe Corsini is a wine producer located in Tuscany, which owns the estates of Villa Le Corti in Chianti Classico and Tenuta Marsiliana in the Maremma. In all, the company owns more than 3000 hectares of land throughout the two territories. Since 2015 all wines have been certified as organic, and those of Tenuta Marsiliana are also certified vegan. The two properties are among the oldest wineries in Tuscany – their roots go back to the 14th Century. Furthermore, the Florentine Corsini family boasts nine centuries of documented history. Their illustrious ancestors including a pope, Clement XII, and a saint, Andrea Corsini, bishop of Fiesole. Corsini family members held important positions in the commercial, financial, political, ecclesiastical, and agricultural fields. Wine represents only one activity across the landholdings. Extra-virgin olive oil is also produced, and much land is given over to conservation. The estates also offer tours and tastings, and Le Corti boasts its own osteria, farmhouse accomodation and cookery school.
