Producer Information

MacMurray Estate Vineyards is a Sonoma-based wine producer known for making Pinot Noir from some of California's most esteemed cool-climate wine regions, including the Russian River Valley and the Santa Lucia Highlands. The main estate vineyard, MacMurray Ranch, is set on a 1500-acre (607-hectare) property planted to 284 acres (115 hectares) of Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris. The property was originally a farmstead in the 1850s, before being home to well-known Hollywood actor Fred MacMurray from 1941 to 1996. MacMurray Ranch was was purchased by the Gallo winemaking family and converted to vineyards, although the property is still closely connected with Fred's daughter, Kate MacMurray. MacMurray make a wide range of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wines from estate vineyards around the Russian River Valley, including the Del Rio Vineyard, the Laguna Ranch Vineyard and the Two Rock Vineyard. In Santa Lucia Highlands, MacMurray's Olson Ranch Vineyard spans more than 390 acres (158 hectares), and is planted with 15 different clones of Pinot Noir. The wines see varying amounts of French oak, depending on the vineyard and grape variety.
