The Ardmore 17 Year Old from Jack Wiebers' Great Ocean Liners series is an exclusive single barrel bottling that was distilled in 2005 and bottled in 2023. The single malt whiskey comes from the Speyside region in Scotland and was stored in a peated bourbon hogshead.

Nose: Full-bodied aromas. Delightful and refreshing.

Palate: This is extremely rich and very balanced in flavour.

Finish: Finishing up with prickles of peppery warmth.

Distillery Information

Built in 1898, Adam Teacher established the distillery to ensure a good supply of whisky for Teachers blended whisky. The build followed a surge of demand for Teachers products and was part of an extensive expansion of the company, including an international marketing campaign. Lying just below Knockandy Hill, alongside the railway line between Inverness and Aberdeen, Ardmore was one of the last remaining distilleries to rely on coal powered fires to heat its stills and did not convert to steam 'til 2003.
