Berkshire Mountain Distillers Smoke and Peat Bourbon Whiskey

Their Islay inspired smoke and peat series bourbon features their award-winning Berkshire bourbon, previously aged in virgin American white oak barrels, before being transferred to freshly emptied Islay single malt casks, finishing in the heavily peated smoked casks for “just the right amount of time,” yielding a whiskey with versatile appeal.

Nose: Smoke and peat, with aromas of spice, vanilla, chocolate and oak.

Palate: Classic bourbon notes fade to lovely, lingering and layered flavors of smoke and peat, with just a tad of iodine.

Finish: Lingers long, smoke is the most obvious, with a hint of mineral and tangy oak wood.

Distillery Information

Established in 2007, Berkshire Mountain Distillers (BMD) has created a line of award-winning artisanal spirits including Greylock Gin, Ethereal Gins, Ragged Mountain Rum, Ice Glen Vodka, Berkshire Bourbon and New England Corn Whiskey, currently available in 19 different states. All products are handcrafted in small batches in Sheffield, Massachusetts at the Berkshire’s first legal distillery since prohibition.
