Maine - Made from family owned farm raised potatoes and steeped in a traditional recipe of juniper berries, coriander, lemon peel, orange peel, and other spices. Its botanical component allows for a rich aroma and identical palate, including juniper and citrus peel.

Nose: Fresh and bold, heavy emphasis on the juniper.

Palate: The taste has a nicely balanced. Lemon and Orange from the citrus rinds shine through, complimenting the juniper, which fades into a lingering spicy earthiness.

Finish: The long finish though is extremely pleasant.

Distillery Information

Cold River Vodka was generated from an idea Green Thumb Farms’ President, Don Thibodeau had in order to make the use of the off-grade potatoes profitable. Don grew up listening to stories his father Larry Thibodeau told about making vodka from potatoes during prohibition. As Larry became ill Don and his brother Lee Thibodeau made several trips to Presque Isle, their birthplace and Maine’s potato country. The five hour trips each way allowed time to develop a solid idea and a plan of action. Their idea became a reality when Maine Distilleries launched Cold River Vodka on November, 3 2005. The company now produces Cold River Vodka, Cold River Blueberry Vodka and Cold River Gin.
