The Jack Daniel Distillery's story involves Jack Daniel learning the art of distilling from an enslaved African American man named Nearest Green, not Reverend Dan Call, as the official story often suggests. The distillery was established in 1866, making it the first registered distillery in the United States, and is located in Lynchburg, Tennessee.
