The area is a popular mountain resort and the distillery is the highest in Japan at 850m above sea level. Everything from Karuizawa is really good. This particular 40 year old bottle from Karuizawa was a blend of Scotch and Japanese Whisky. This bottle celebrates the uniting of two nations. A very rare Karuizawa, with only 677 bottles ever released. No box. Grab it while it’s still here!

Karuizawa distillery was a Japanese whisky distillery. It was located at Miyota, a town on the southern slopes of an active complex volcano, Mount Asama, in Kitasaku District, Nagano Prefecture, Japan. Established in 1955, the distillery began production in 1956.
