All the way from Sweden comes Björksav, a marvellous single malt produced by the brilliant Mackmyra. This expression features whisky aged in bourbon casks, Oloroso sherry casks, Swedish oak casks, and even casks that previously held Swedish birch sap wine! Inspired by the long wait for spring to arrive, this one is wonderfully bright and floral. Y'know, just like spring. How thematic!
Mackmyra Björksav Swedish Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Green apples, nutmeg, lemongrass, citrus blossom, peach, vanilla tablet.
Palate: Spiced biscuit dough, candied ginger, maple syrup, a burst of nectarine and white grape, leading into more rounded vanilla notes.
Finish: Softly toasted cedar and greengages last on the finish.
