Another awesome addition to Mackmyra's Moment series! Made from a blend of peated and unpeated spirit, this is Körsbärsrök, which translates to 'cherry smoke' – and you'll soon see why. The peated new make was wholly aged in bourbon casks, while the unpeated new make was only partly aged in these casks. The rest of the unpeated whisky spent its days in American oak seasoned with German cherry wine! It's all about the balance of fruity sweetness and smoke in this single malt whisky, and Mackmyra has knocked it out of the park once again. Just 1,500 bottles were released.
Mackmyra Moment - Körsbärsrök Whiskey | 700ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Bakewell tart and pear skin, with salted caramel, cherry brandy and a piney note, alongside lemon meringue pie and a lick of smoke.
Palate: A splendid taste with a warm feel to it. Not to smoky but silky smooth.
Finish: The finish is surprisingly long and warming.
