Papá Andrés is an annual blend hand-crafted by Brugal’s Maestros Roneros, each different from the last. Each blend contains rums from three different casks: Spanish Oak seasoned with Oloroso Sherry that have been hand-selected by The Macallan’s Master of Wood, Spanish Oak seasoned with Pedro Ximenez Sherry and American Oak seasoned with Bourbon.
Papa Andres Brugal Rum Tasting Notes
Nose: The nose on Papa Andres is very evasive with light oak, roasted pineapple, and dark cherry.
Palate: The midpalate is a subtle mix of oak, dark cherry, mission fig, caramel, grassy sugar cane, and black pepper spice.
Finish: A finish of rich wood and caramel.
Distillery Information
During the latter half of the 19th century, Andrés Brugal Montaner — a Spanish expatriate who had emigrated to Cuba — uprooted his family and decided to take up permanent residence in the Dominican Republic. While in Cuba, Brugal had begun experimenting with the distillation of sugar cane, and upon his arrival in the Dominican Republic in 1888, Brugal opened the doors to Brugal & Co. Distillery.
