Rodham Rye is a blend of two ryes for a final mash bill of 66% rye and 33% corn. Aged for an average of 2-3 years, 30% of that time, itโs finished in French oak barrels, previously used for Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay.

Republic Restoratives wanted to make something that even bourbon drinkers would like sipping on, but not a spirit that could be confused for bourbon. The water used to dilute Rodham to bottle strength comes from an Adirondack spring on the farm, where Pia and Rachel had their initial conversation about starting a distillery. Rachel used a sledge hammer over the 2016 winter to break open the ice on the spring and tote barrels of this pure, crisp water down to DC.
Republic Restoratives Rodham Rye Whiskey Tasting Notes
Nose: This rye has a sweet nose of caramel, candied citrus, and vanilla.
Palate: Notes of butterscotch, cassia bark, pink peppercorn, kettle corn, and apples.
Finish: The heat and lingering taste of dry, woody spices makes the experience pleasant.

Republic Restoratives Distillery is a small batch, women-owned craft cocktail bar that specializes in Civic Vodka, Borough Bourbon, Rodham Rye, and Chapmans. The tasting room is well lit with natural lighting and lightly decorated with plants, on tables and hanging from the walls.
