Part of the Distillery Reserve Collection, this non chill-filtered 12 year old Scapa cask strength single malt Scotch whisky was distilled in 2003 and bottled in 2015 at 58.5% ABV.
The Distillery Reserve Collection Scapa 2003 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 500ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Yellow fruits (citrus, apples, some pears, pineapple), very tropical, caramel, vanilla, hints of smoke, salt, herbs.
Palate: Yellow fruits, tropical fruits, caramel, vanilla, more herbs, salty, some pepper.
Finish: Long. Fruits, vanilla, a lot of herbs, some smoke and oak.
Distillery Information
It was built by a blender, Glasgow's John Townsend. It was damaged by fire in 1919, but rebuilt. In 1936 it was bought by Bloch Bros. [see Glen Scotia, Glengyle] who ran it for close on two decades before selling up to Hiram Walker which through mergers ended up as Allied Distillers.
