This wine is a rich and layered Bordeaux-style blend that balances the density and power of our estate vineyard’s Cabernet Sauvignon with the silky texture and perfumed aromatics of our best blocks of Cabernet Franc.

• Wine Advocate: The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon Estate is a blend of 82% Cabernet Sauvignon and 18% Cabernet Franc. Deep garnet-purple colored, the nose is youthfully reticent, needing considerable swirling to unlock fragrant notes of black cherry compote, baked blackberries and freshly crushed blackcurrants, plus touches of dried lavender, black tea and crushed rocks. The medium to full-bodied palate is tightly knit with firm, fine-grained tannins and bold freshness securing the energetic fruit, delivering exhilarating tension and a long, mineral-laced finish.

• Vinous: The 2018 Cabernet Sauvignon is elegant, understated and quite nuanced. Dark cherry, plum, mocha, spice and new leather all grace this classy, polished Cabernet Sauvignon. The 2018 represents a move towards a more finessed style here. Needless to say, it will be fascinating to see where the wines go in the coming years. Hints of black cherry, chocolate, new leather, licorice and mocha linger.

Southwest of St. Helena, in the Napa Valley is our 20 acre estate and winery. We are tucked in the foothills of the Mayacamas mountain range and surrounded by old-growth forests. The property was a part of the historic Bourn estate dating back to 1872 at the beginnings of winemaking in the Napa Valley. Morgan Maurèze, who is our Winemaker & Director at Marciano Estate, is a fifth-generation winemaker who grew up working at Dominus alongside his father. After completing his BS Viticulture and Enology from UC Davis he worked in France for Petrus, Chateau Haut-Brion & La Mission Haut-Brion in Bordeaux and DRC or Domaine de la Romanée Conti in Burgundy. After graduating from his second Master from the University of Bordeaux, he returned back to the Napa Valley, and worked with Andy Erickson, at prestigious wineries such as Screaming Eagle Ovid, Arietta, Dancing Hares, Dalla Valle, and now full-time winemaker for Marciano Estate. Our consulting team for the winemaking, Mr. Andy Erickson & Mr. Michel Rolland and Mr. David Abreu as the Vineyard Manager.
