Les Poisets is nicely located near the fine premier cru Les Cailles. Hail reduced yields to a trifling 14 hl/ha this year. The raspberry-scented nose is pungent but ripe. suave and concentrated, it has firm but ripe tannins, and plenty of energy. Perky acidity keeps it fresh on the finish, which is textured and persistent. Nuits can sometimes be rustic, but not here.

• Wine Advocate: From the south of the commune—just below primer premier cru Les Cailles—comes the 2018 Nuits-Saint-Georges Les Poisets, a rich and powerful wine that offers up notes of ripe red fruits, peonies, sweet soil tones and dried herbs. Medium to full-bodied and muscular but velvety, it's underpinned by lively acids and concludes with chalky grip. Due to hail, this parcel yielded only 14 hectoliters per hectare this year.

• Vinous: The 2018 Nuit Saint-Georges Les Poisets comes from 0.7 hectares that this year produced just five barrels due to hail (14hl/ha). The nose feels a little disjointed at the moment, missing the focus that imbues Lachaux’s other 2018s. It needs to find more harmony during its élevage. The palate is medium-bodied with wild strawberry and cranberry fruit, firm tannins and a very pretty, pure finish that maybe just misses the length of other recent vintages I have tasted.

Domaine Arnoux-Lachaux is a red wine producer located in Vosne-Romanée, in Burgundy's Côte de Nuits. The domaine is best known for premium expressions of Pinot Noir from some of the best appellations in Burgundy. Many of the parcels sit adjacent to those of Burgundy superpower Domaine de la Romanée-Conti.The founders of the estate were Charles Arnoux and Renée Salbreux, and their son Robert took over the estate in 1957. He acquired small plots of vines around Burgundy in both grand and premier cru appellations and, today, the domaine has 14.5 hectares (35 acres) of vines in four grand cru, five premier cru and five village appellations.In 1987, Florence Arnoux and her husband Pascal Lachaux began to work with her father, Robert, at the domaine – they were in charge of the estate since Robert's death in 1995. The name was changed to Arnoux-Lachaux in 2008 to reflect the current ownership and winemaking is now headed-up by son Charles Lachaux, a vocal supporter of Burgundy doyenne Lalou-Bize Leroy and her wines.
