        Reviews:

        • Wine Advocate: The 2019 Hosanna has turned out well, exhibiting opulent aromas of sweet berry fruit, plums, spices and creamy new oak. Full-bodied, rich and velvety, it's broad and enveloping, with supple tannins and an ample core of ripe, generously extracted fruit. Hosanna is the most dramatic wine in the Mouiex portfolio this year, as is often the case.
        • Vinous: The 2019 Hosanna is a Pomerol that demands, and deserves, attention. It sprints out of the blocks with intense blackberry, raspberry, incense and blood orange scents, lavish and luxuriant while retaining superb delineation. The palate is medium-bodied, multilayered and mouth-filling, delivering saturated tannins and pure black fruit; just a very faint suggestion of fresh prune and fig appears toward the finish. This Hosanna takes it to the brink of overripeness. A Pomerol blessed with what you might call "optimal hedonism.

        Producer Information

Château Hosanna is a Bordeaux wine estate in the Pomerol appellation. It was created in 1999 when Château Certan Giraud was purchased by established Bordeaux négociant Établissements Jean-Pierre Moueix. One part was renamed Hosanna, with the other two hectares (five acres) becoming Château Certan Marzelle. The property faces Pétrus (also part of the Moueix stable) and lies between Lafleur and Vieux Château Certan. There are 4.5 hectares (11 acres) of vines at Hosanna, on soils made up of red gravel with layers of clay and some sand (the famed, iron-based "crasse de fer" soils of the appellation). The vineyard is planted with 70 percent Merlot and a relatively high 30 percent Cabernet Franc.
