Amrut, the Sanskrit word for "nectar of the gods," was established a year after India claimed independence from the United Kingdom. Since 1948, they have mainly been producing whiskies, but also release limited edition rums such as this rum distilled from 100% indian sugarcane.

Amrut Old Port Deluxe Rum Tasting Notes

Nose: Fallen starfruit and banana chew, guanabana, asiago rind, and dried lime.

Palate: Vanilla caramel chew and dried cherries, orange flower water and Cheetos, chocolate wafer cookie, and spumoni.

Finish: A sweet and candied rum with a hint of funk.

Amrut Distilleries Ltd is an Indian company that produces distilled beverages. It is best known for its eponymous Amrut brand of single malt whisky, which is the first single malt whisky to be made in India.
