Cava de Oro Mezcal Artesanal Joven is a traditional Oaxacan mezcal crafted from 100% Espadín agave. The agave is cooked in underground earthen ovens, crushed using a tahona, naturally fermented, and distilled in copper. Its profile balances roasted agave sweetness with bright citrus, fresh herbs, earthy minerality, pepper, and restrained smoke. Bottled at 42% ABV, it offers an approachable yet expressive style of artisanal mezcal.

Nose: Roasted agave, bright citrus peel, fresh herbs, wet minerals, white pepper, and gentle smoke.

Palate: Cooked agave, lime zest, subtle stone fruit, green herbs, black pepper, and soft smoky undertones.

Finish: Clean and lingering, with sweet agave, mineral notes, fresh herbs, pepper, and delicate smoke.

Distillery Information

Cava de Oro is a family-owned Mexican spirits house founded by Gildardo Partida and Leticia Hermosillo, with its roots in the tequila-making traditions of El Arenal, Jalisco. The family began developing its own tequila operation in the 1990s, installing its first still at Casa Cava de Oro and producing its first bottled tequila in 2000. The brand has since expanded across a broad range of tequila expressions while maintaining a strong focus on family craftsmanship and traditional agave production. Its artisanal mezcal extends that heritage into Oaxaca, using traditional mezcal-making techniques and Espadín agave.
