Brought to us by indie bottler North Star Spirits, a superb single malt from Glenallachie. Distilled in 2012, the whisky spent its years resting in an oloroso sherry butt, yielding a total of 662 bottles when opened.

Glenallachie 11 Year Old 2012 North Star Spirits Single Malt Scotch Whisky | 700ML Tasting Notes

Nose: Toasted vanilla, burnt brown sugar, crème caramel, rich oak, and stewed stone fruits.

Palate: Hearty helpings of rich, biscuity malt are joined by bold, woody spice and waves of buttery toffee.

Finish: Big and bold right 'til the end, with robust spice, and heaps of sticky sweet sherried fruit.

Distillery Information

One of a few distilleries built to produce blending whisky, GlenAllachie (pronounced ‘Glen-al-ACK-ee’) was founded by Mackinlay, McPherson and Co to provide malt whisky for Mackinlay blends. The distillery stands in the heart of Speyside, at the foot of Ben Rinnes and in relatively close proximity to Aberlour. Both whisky distilleries draw their water from springs in the mountains.
