An ancient Mortlach 1938 bottled by Gordon & MacPhail in the 1980s. This vintage seems to have been something of an annus mirabilis for Mortlach, with Gordon & Macphail having released several stunning bottlings.

Nose: A delightfully complex spicy and perfumed nose.
Palate: Very smooth with a caramel texture.
Finish: Perfect, long lasting finish.
Distillery Information
Mortlach distillery is a distiller of Scotch whisky in Dufftown, Moray, Scotland. Founded in 1823, the distillery is currently owned by Diageo. The whisky is a key component in several Johnnie Walker bottlings., while Diageo also markets four Mortlach single malts. The still pictured above is Dufftown distillery.
