Rum Fire is an overproof rum... not quite the dizzying heights of 151 but still the equivalent of a cask strength whiskey at 126 proof (compare with most rums bottled at 80). It is said to be a brand name for the "Trelawney JB" product that has only recently emerged for retail.

Nose: The nose has the traditional fruity, overripe-banana tones you’d expect from a Jamaican rum.

Palate: A strong citrus note somewhat like grapefruit.

Finish: The finish leaves your taste-buds whenever it’s damn ready.

Distillery Information

Hampden Distillery is the only distillery in Jamaica that specializes exclusively in the making of Heavy Pot Still rums. It prides itself in the Art of making High Ester Rums from knowledge handed down from generation to generation using fermenters made more than a century ago. Although utilizing the latest technology and equipments to ensure product quality, Hampden’s Master Distiller and Wash Masters pride themselves in predicting the outcome of each production run making the process an art as much as a science.
