sparkling, fizzy, bubbling after-eights leaving a long, prickly, ginger note.. like the friendly bite of a soft kitten.. with a few drops of water, the nose becomes more civilized, dusty and leathery.. but the palate is better neat, retains more oomph and less licorice..

Springbank 1993-2018 SCOMA 24 Year Old Tasting Notes

Nose: That rare case when all the tones of sherry are the main prune, then on equal terms cherry and dry pear. Among these fruits there is dust and some peat.

Palate: against the background of prunes, a lot of chocolate and coffee, mint, dust and coals.

Finish: medium to long. Peppery enough with the same chocolate, mint and lots of salt.
Controversial spring. I will understand those who put 86 and those who put 90. Alcohol is not very well integrated. Opponents will say that Spring is not enough.

Distillery Information

The Springbank distillery is a family-owned single malt whisky distillery on the Kintyre Peninsula in western Scotland. It is owned by J & A Mitchell & Company, who also owns the Glengyle Distillery, the oldest independent bottler, William Cadenheads, and several blended scotch labels.
