Distillery Information

Spirit of Yorkshire Distillery is located near Hunmanby in Yorkshire and was founded by Tom Mellor and David Thompson. The distillery filled its first cask of new-make spirit on 14 June 2016, beginning the production of what would become Filey Bay Single Malt Whisky. It uses locally grown barley and water from the Yorkshire Wolds, with whisky production, maturation and bottling all carried out at the distillery. Filey Bay has since become one of the best-known examples of modern English single malt whisky.
