Virginia Distilling Port Cask Finished Highland Whiskey es en realidad una mezcla de dos Single Malts, uno de Escocia y el otro de sus alambiques de Virginia. El espíritu escocés llega plenamente maduro. La malta Virginia tiene un envejecimiento de un año, pero no dejes que ese año te preocupe. Los dos se casan y se terminan en barricas de Oporto nacionales para darle profundidad y complejidad y se embotellan con un perfecto 46% ABV. El resultado neto es elegante y sabe a las Tierras Altas que le dan nombre.

Nariz: Aromas de cereales tostados, ralladura de naranja, caramelo de chocolate masticable y especias cálidas.

Boca: Notas parecidas al vermú en una nariz equilibrada de cacao y cereales.

Final: El final de longitud media es afrutado y hormigueante.

Las montañas Blue Ridge del centro de Virginia son más conocidas por el alcohol ilegal y las destilerías renegadas. Virginia Distillery Company está cambiando todo eso. El difunto Dr. George G. Moore llegó a Virginia desde Irlanda en 1970, donde crió a su familia y soñaba con hacer whisky. En 2011, ese sueño se hizo realidad cuando fundó Virginia Distillery Company con su esposa, su hijo y su nuera, quienes se niegan a dirigir la operación.
