Foursquare Epilogue Exceptional Cask Selection Mark XXXI closes the book on Richard Seale’s acclaimed Exceptional Cask Selection series. Distilled, blended, matured, and bottled entirely at Foursquare Rum Distillery in Barbados, it combines spirit from copper double retort pot stills and continuous twin column stills. Matured for at least 19 years in bourbon American oak casks and bottled at 57% ABV, without added sugar, colouring, or chill filtration, it's a release of just 1,300 bottles.

Nose: Caramelised orange, grapefruit peel, toffee, nougat, and brown butter, with leather, tobacco, and ripe tropical fruit beneath.

Palate: Butterscotch, dark chocolate, roasted hazelnuts, vanilla, baked pineapple, and plenty of warming oak spice.

Finish: Cocoa, citrus oils, polished oak, tobacco, and lingering spice.

Distillery Information

Foursquare Distillery was established in Barbados in the 1990s on the site of a former sugar plantation and is operated by the Seale family, whose rum business dates back to 1926. Under Richard Seale, Foursquare has become one of the most respected modern rum producers, particularly for its transparent approach to maturation and its refusal to add sugar or other flavourings to its aged rums. The distillery combines traditional double-retort pot still distillation with continuous Coffey column distillation, allowing it to create highly distinctive blends of the two styles. Its long-running collaboration with Velier's Luca Gargano has produced some of the most sought-after independent rum releases of the modern era, including the Indomitas series.
