Sierra Norte es una línea de whiskies oaxaqueños de Douglas French, el fundador de Scorpion Mezcal, que presenta variedades de maíz nativas de Oaxaca. Esta es una expresión de un solo barril que presenta maíz negro, con un puré de 85% de maíz y 15% de cebada malteada. Tiene una crianza de 10 meses aproximadamente en roble francés.
Notas de cata de Whisky Oaxaqueño de Maíz Morado Sierra Norte Single Barrel
Nariz: Pimienta, anís estrellado, un sabor a nuez seca y cáscaras de maní.
Boca: Manzana guisada, grosella roja, granada y arándano, fondo de especias y dulzor tardío de caramelo.
Final: Notas intensas de clavo y regaliz rojo.
