Laphroaig Single Malt se elabora con la mejor cebada escocesa, que se maltea en la destilería y se seca sobre llama de turba. A diferencia de otras destilerías que obtienen turba del continente escocés, la turba utilizada para fumar la cebada de Laphroaig se elabora a partir de brezos, musgos y líquenes de Islay y añade al whisky un distintivo sabor parecido al yodo.

Nariz: En nariz tiene grandes notas ahumadas, de algas marinas, “medicinales” con un toque de dulzura.

Boca: Sorprendentemente dulce con toques de sal y capas de turba.

Final: El final es persistente.
