Ubicado dentro de Glendive Estate en Speyside, Tomintoul (Tom-in-towel) lleva el nombre de un pueblo cercano, el pueblo más alto de las tierras altas y generalmente el primero en quedar cerrado por la nieve. Tomintoul fue fundada en 1965 por Hay McLeod Ltd y W. & S. Strong, y fue la tercera destilería establecida después de la Segunda Guerra Mundial. En 1973, la destilería fue comprada por inversores y la propiedad cambió a Whyte & McKay en 1995 antes de ser vendida. a Angus Dundee en 2000 (quien también adquirió la destilería Glencadam en 2003) donde permanece hasta el día de hoy. Este embotellado de 10 años se envejece en barricas de ex-bourbon.

Nariz: De cuerpo medio y bien equilibrado. Hay notas de dulce de vainilla y cebada. Tonos de extracto de malta y espresso, notas de mochaccino y roble.

Boca: Agradablemente viscoso, con notas de azúcar de cebada, cereales tostados, miel de acacia y extracto de malta. Panal, toffee y un toque de fudge de vainilla.

Final: Bastante corto, pero encantador.
