Producer Information

Roy Estate is a small-production luxury Napa Valley wine estate founded in 1999 by Charles and Shirley Roy. The estate is located on Soda Canyon Road in Napa Valley, just south of the Stags Leap District, with approximately 24 acres planted mainly to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, and Petit Verdot. Since 2017, the estate has been owned and managed by Stephany Maillery and Stephan Crétier. Philippe Melka has been the winemaker since 2005 and brings a Bordeaux-influenced approach to the wines, with previous experience at renowned estates including Château Haut-Brion, Château Pétrus, Dominus, and Ridge. Roy Estate focuses on highly concentrated, structured and age-worthy Napa Cabernet Sauvignon, emphasizing vineyard character, freshness and refined tannins. The estate produces a very limited number of wines, including its flagship Roy Estate Cabernet Sauvignon, Mr. Evans Proprietary Red, and La Rêveuse, an extremely limited Cabernet Sauvignon produced only in exceptional vintages. The wines are generally made in small quantities and receive extensive aging in French oak, positioning Roy Estate firmly within the luxury Napa Cabernet category.
