A distinctive white wine from Lanzarote that brings together grapes from different vineyards and volcanic soils across the island. The blend combines Malvasía Volcánica, Listán Blanco, Diego, and Listán Negro, with vines ranging from roughly 50 to 200 years old. Fermentation and maturation take place across concrete, foudre, and 500-liter barrels, giving the wine both freshness and layered texture. The 2023 vintage is particularly vibrant, mineral, creamy, and saline.
Producer Information
Jable de Tao is a young Lanzarote wine project whose first vintage was produced in 2022, founded around the idea of expressing the island through its diverse vineyards, soils, and traditional viticulture. The winery works with its own vineyards as well as local growers across Lanzarote, with winemaking led by Carmelo Peña. Its wines draw from jable, volcanic ash, sedimentary soils, and the distinctive enarenado vineyard system, showcasing the geological diversity of the island.
