Papa's Pilar Rye Whiskey Finished Rum

A rich, oak-forward dark rum built from a Solera blend of rums sourced from Barbados, Dominican Republic, Panama, Venezuela, and Florida. The blend is matured through bourbon, Port, and Spanish Oloroso Sherry casks before receiving an extended finish in heavily charred American rye whiskey barrels. The rye influence adds pronounced spice and structure to the naturally sweet, layered rum.

Nose: Toasted oak, burnt sugar, dates, vanilla, roasted coffee, and warm baking spices.

Palate: Rich and viscous, with caramel, maple sweetness, dark chocolate, coffee, vanilla, rye spice, and peppery oak.

Finish: Long and warming, with cacao, caramel, spiced tobacco, cracked pepper, and lingering toasted oak.

Papa's Pilar is an ultra-premium rum brand created in collaboration with the Hemingway family as a tribute to Ernest Hemingway and his adventurous spirit. The brand's Key West, Florida distillery works under the direction of seventh-generation Master Distiller Ron Call, whose extensive whiskey background strongly influences the brand's barrel-finishing program. Papa's Pilar uses Solera blending across its core expressions and combines traditional rum production with whiskey-oriented maturation techniques. The Rye-Finished expression was introduced in 2023 as the fourth addition to the brand's flagship lineup.
