Stillman’s Sonder 10 Year American Single Malt is a deeply layered whiskey distilled in Indiana and matured in Wisconsin, developed from carefully preserved stocks of aged American single malt. The whiskey undergoes three rounds of selection, blending, re-barreling and finishing across virgin oak, ex-bourbon, Wisconsin brandy, Cognac and Calvados casks. The result is a soft, fruit-driven single malt with stewed peach, baked pear, vanilla bean and caramel apple alongside toasted dessert spices. Its viscous sweetness and gradual evolution give it a polished, complex character while retaining a distinctly American identity.

Nose: Toasted nutmeg and allspice with stewed peach, baked pear, malted grain, subtle oak and delicate caramel.

Palate: Soft and creamy, with peach cobbler, pear, vanilla bean and caramel apple followed by light brown sugar, custard and gentle baking spices.

Finish: Long and slowly developing, with Fuji apple, spiced pear, chai, toasted black pepper and lingering caramel sweetness.

Distillery Information

Stillman’s Sonder was created by the Maas family as a tribute to three generations of work in the American spirits industry. The whiskey's story began with exploratory single-malt distillation at MGP in Indiana between 2010 and 2016, producing barrels that were subsequently acquired and carefully aged by the family. Dancing Goat Distillery in Cambridge, Wisconsin later undertook an 18-month process of analysis, blending, re-barreling and finishing to transform these long-aged stocks into the Stillman’s Sonder releases. The brand is named for the patience and precision of the stillman, while “Sonder” reflects an awareness of the complex lives and stories behind every bottle. The American Single Malt represents the family's vision of combining traditional whiskey craftsmanship with creative American cask finishing.
