Hard Truth Sweet Mash Wheated Bottled-in-Bond Straight Bourbon Whiskey

A grain-to-glass wheated bourbon made using Hard Truth’s sweet mash process, with fresh ingredients used for every batch rather than recycled backset. The wheated mash bill gives the whiskey a softer, rounder character, while Bottled-in-Bond standards provide a structured and authentic expression. Made from 69% corn, 19% wheat, and 12% malted barley.

Nose: Toasted marshmallow, dark chocolate, custard, vanilla, butterscotch, brown sugar, and gentle baking spice, with a touch of charred oak and ripe fruit.

Palate: Rich and confectionary, showing s’mores, toasted almond, candied fruit, caramel, cinnamon, cherry, and soft oak. The wheat brings a smooth sweetness and creamy texture, balanced by subtle spice.

Finish: Long and warming, with mocha, shortbread, maple, vanilla, oak, and a gradual rise of black pepper and baking spice.

Distillery Information

Hard Truth Distilling Co. is a grain-to-glass distillery based in Nashville, Indiana, specializing in sweet-mash whiskey. The distillery began production in 2015 and later expanded to a 325-acre destination campus in Brown County. Its Barrel Finish Reserve program takes fully matured Hard Truth whiskey and gives it additional maturation in carefully selected finishing casks. The French Oak Bourbon represents the first Barrel Finish Reserve expression released by the distillery in 2026.
