Durante una visita a Islay, David Perkins disfrutó de un desayuno en un B&B cerca de Bruichladdich, que incluía un delicioso almíbar hecho con azúcar y whisky de turba vertido sobre melón dulce. Llevando esta experiencia a Estados Unidos, se dedicó a mezclar bourbon dulce de Lawrenceburg con whisky de pura malta de Islay, ¡y un poco de centeno picante, por si acaso!

Nariz: Almíbar dorado, melocotón, miel, un poco de especia de centeno y sólo una pizca de humo de turba.

Boca: Un gran golpe de centeno, canela y pasas, antes de regresar al territorio del caramelo con miel.

Final: Sultanas, caramelo y humo de turba persistente.
