Redemption 10 Year Old Barrel Proof Straight Rye Whiskey is distilled from a mash of 95% premium rye and 5% barley malt. Whiskey ages in a barrel. As the years pass its exposed to the heat and humidity of the summer and the bitter cold of winter. The whiskey in the barrel expands and contracts and all the time is interacting with the char and the oak of the barrel.

Redemption 10 Year Old Barrel Proof Straight Rye Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Spicy rye, caramel and oak.

Palate: Sweet cereal grains and bitter apple.

Finish: Oily and warming, with some faint hints of vanilla accompanying even more spicy rye and oak notes.

Distillery Information

Bardstown Barrel Selections, the parent company of Redemption, was founded by bourbon industry veterans Michael Kanbar and Dave Schmier.

The addition of Redemption provides a high-quality entry into the most dynamic segment of the spirits business: American Whiskey,” Peter Deutsch, CEO of Deutsch Family Wine & Spirits, said in a press release. “The premium and ultra-premium segments within the whiskey category remind me a lot of premium wine, with consumers being open to experiment, focused more on quality than slick marketing and interested in learning more about the product itself.”
