Los embotelladores independientes North Star Spirits lanzaron este espectacular single malt para su vigésima serie Cask. Destilado en Glenrothes en 1986, este whisky de Speyside maduró durante 36 años en un hogshead rellenado, con una producción de sólo 220 botellas a un accesible 44,1% ABV.

Nariz: Té de rooibos, helecho espeso y pastilla.

Paladar: Vainilla seca, frambuesa y piel de plátano Doc Brown.

Final: El final es muy suave y largo.

Información de la destilería

La destilería Glenrothes es bastante importante; sus diez alambiques tienen una capacidad de más de 5,6 millones de litros anuales. La destilería funciona al 90% de esta cantidad y almacena el whisky de pura malta añejado en los dieciséis almacenes del lugar. A pesar de esto, Glenrothes conserva una identidad bastante artesanal y ha evitado producir una variedad tradicional. Quizás se deba a los actuales licenciatarios, Berry Brothers y Rudd, los famosos comerciantes de vinos de Londres. Los whiskies de pura malta Glenrothes se ofrecen en una variedad de añadas.
