Bardstown Bourbon Co. Origin Series Wheated Bottled in Bond Bourbon Tasting Notes

Nose: The sip opens with soft and gentle baking scents. Light fresh bread combines with gentle wheat and hints of soft cream to kick things off.

Palate: The palate brings about some of those same baking elements found in the nose, but also adds in complimentary flavors to give it more depth.

Finish: Much like the rest of the sip, the finish isn’t overly complex, instead being more functional in nature.

Distillery Information

The Bardstown Bourbon Company is a Bourbon whiskey distiller based in Bardstown, Kentucky, making a range of own-brand Bourbons as well as providing custom mashing and distilling services for a range of other brands and labels. The distillery and its facilities cover roughly 390,000 square feet (36,000 square meters) and distlils around seven million proof gallons (110,000 barrels) annually. It is one of the USA's top 10 whiskey distillers by capacity. The company makes two main labels: the Fusion and Discovery series with the former blending young Bourbons (around three years old) with more aged batches (around ten or more years old) while the latter blends batches of extended-aged whiskeys, sometimes combining portions of whiskeys from other states including Indiana and Tennessee. Various other labels and limited edition or special releases are also made as are a range of mashes for other brands including Jefferson’s, High West, Belle Meade, Hirsch, Calumet, James E. Pepper and Cyrus Noble. The distillery site also includes a visitor center and long-term aging facilities for the whiskey barrels.
