High West The Prisoner's Share 2026 Release Whiskey

A limited 2026 release blending straight bourbon and straight rye whiskeys aged between 4 and 12 years, including High West’s own bourbon and rye alongside selected sourced whiskey. The blend is finished in French oak barrels that previously held The Prisoner Red Blend wine, bringing rich red-fruit character, dark chocolate, spice, and subtle wine tannins. The 2026 release is bottled without chill filtration.

Nose: Ripe raspberry, black cherry cobbler, red-wine-poached pear, dark chocolate, violets, toasted cinnamon, chai spice, and seasoned leather.

Palate: Rich and layered with Medjool dates, dried cranberry, fig jam, smoked apple with vanilla custard, cappuccino, clove, crystallized ginger, red cedar, and dark chocolate.

Finish: Long and warming, with boysenberry preserves, star anise, lingering baking spice, dark chocolate, and gentle wine-driven tannins.

Distillery Information

High West Distillery was founded in Park City, Utah, in 2006 and became one of the early modern American whiskey producers to emphasize blending and innovative cask finishing. The distillery now combines whiskey produced in Utah with carefully selected sourced stocks from other American producers. High West is particularly recognized for blending bourbon and rye and for finishing whiskey in wine and specialty barrels. The Prisoner's Share represents this philosophy by bringing together multiple whiskey styles and finishing them in barrels from The Prisoner Wine Company.
