Old Elk 10 Year Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey

Old Elk 10 Year Old Straight Bourbon is a mature bourbon built around an unusually high proportion of malted barley, with a mash bill of 51% corn, 34% malted barley, and 15% rye. A full decade of maturation develops layers of caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, dried fruit, and baking spice, while the malted barley contributes a softer, rounded grain character. Bottled at 105 proof, it offers a rich and robust profile with a balanced, approachable texture.

Old Elk 10 Year Old Straight Bourbon Whiskey Tasting Notes

Nose: Dark caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, dried orchard fruit, sweet malt, and warm baking spice.

Palate: Rich caramel and vanilla with toasted oak, dried fruit, malted grain, brown sugar, and rye-driven spice.

Finish: Long and warming, with lingering caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, sweet malt, and gentle rye spice.

Distillery Information

Old Elk Distillery was founded in Fort Collins, Colorado, in 2013 and developed its whiskey program with the expertise of master distiller Greg Metze. The company became part of Middle West Spirits in 2025, bringing Old Elk into the portfolio of the independent Ohio-based distiller. The 10-Year-Old Collection represents the first major new releases under the new ownership and includes Straight Bourbon, Wheated Bourbon, and Straight Wheat Whiskey.
