Detailed Description
Detailed Description
A distinctive expression from Buffalo Trace’s Experimental Collection created to explore how a very low barrel entry proof influences rye bourbon during maturation. Made from Buffalo Trace’s Rye Mash #1 and entered into new charred American oak at just 90 proof, the whiskey matured for 11 years and 9 months. The extended aging brings together light fruit, dried nuts, gentle spice and a noticeably dry, refined character.
Buffalo Trace Experimental Collection Rye Bourbon 90 Bourbon Whiskey | 375ML Tasting Notes
Nose: Light fruit, vanilla and sweet oak with dried nuts, subtle caramel and gentle baking spice.
Palate: Delicate and balanced, with orchard fruit, vanilla and caramel followed by dried nuts, seasoned oak and soft spice. The lower entry proof gives the whiskey a lighter, more restrained character.
Finish: Dry and lingering, with dried fruit, nutty oak, gentle spice and a touch of vanilla.
